Mothers Day

This was my first mother's day and both our mom's first mother's day as grandmothers (wow that's a mouthful!). A special thanks to our mothers, who've been there for us every step of the way.

Long Awaited Uncle Carl & International Day of the Family

After 4 1/2 months Ajax and Uncle Carl finally have met. Ajax wore his surfer shirt to show his support of Uncle Carl's recent career choice. This post is in recognition of May 15th, which is International Day of the Family. You can choose your friends, but your family are there no matter what. We love you Uncle Carl, and we're going to take you up on your offer of living with you when you're rich.

Four Months Old

So this weekend Ajax turned four months. The best birthday present mommy got this last month was Ajax hitting the jolly jumper. He's really loving it and it's been great for his developing muscles. The public health nurse came to visit today and he's in the top percentiles for growth, we are almost hoping he'll start slowing it down a bit and give mommy a little break from nursing every two to three hours. We've still been cloth diapering and mom's taken on the challenge of sewing the next set of diapers for when he grows out of these ones.
In other news, Ajax, Mom, and Grandpa Thiessen have registered for the Father's day Manitoba Marathon 10K walk. We've all been walking together every Monday and Ajax and mom go for 1-2 hour walks on the other days. Of course Ajax sleeps through most of the trips, but it gives mom a chance to get some good exercise.
Ajax has also kept busy by watching his daddy skate at the new skate plaza. This year daddy's stepping it up a notch, and skating primarily in the bowl. Mom usually meets daddy at the skate park when she goes for evening walks and they make it a family affair. Maybe our next blog will include some pics of this, I guess you'll have to stay tuned.
